Russian bobsledder Irina Skvortsova, seriously...
On November 23, Skvortsova received multiple fractures including to her hips and back when the Russian women"s team tipped over in the sled and stopped, after which the Russian men"s team crashed into them from behind at full speed on a bobsleigh track in Koenigssee.
"Irina"s condition, according to doctors, remains stable. The next tissue transplantation surgery is scheduled for Saturday," Lyudmila Kozlova said.
Skvortsova"s right leg received the most serious injuries in the accident. Doctors initially planned to amputate the leg.
On December 29, the sportswoman was brought out of induced coma and spoke for the first time.
"The worst is behind. Nothing threatens Irina"s life now," Kozlova said.
