Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Denisov held a number of meetings with U.S. politicians and businessmen during his recent visit to the United States to discuss prospects of bilateral cooperation.

"The impressions that we are getting from contacts, the increased number of meetings, the new mechanisms that we are trying to build, the creation of a presidential commission - these are certainly positive facts. But these new forms of dialogue must be filled with tangible content," Denisov told reporters on Friday.

The joint presidential commission established during U.S. President Barack Obama"s visit to Moscow in July last year includes 13 working groups covering different areas of cooperation between Russia and the United States.

The commission is supervised by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
