Airports in Southern Europe on Monday continued canceling flights due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland.

According to the flight schedule in Athens, at least 54 arrival and 55 departure flights to Western European countries have been cancelled. Greece"s airspace was not affected by the volcanic ash cloud.

The international airport in Sofia, Bulgaria, was closed on Sunday for half of the day because of the ash cloud which, according to meteorologists, had entered Bulgarian airspace. Later on Sunday, the airport was reopened and began flights to countries whose airspace was not shut down.

The airport in Larnaca, Cyprus, delayed on Monday around 20 arrivals and 15 departures.

The Albanian capital Tirana"s airport imposed a flight ban from April 17 until special notification. It has not updated its website since.
